Thanks to Reyma’s acceptance and consolidation in Tixcacal, on April 8 the construction of a second production plant was announced.

With an investment of 40 million dollars and the creation of 300 direct jobs and 1200 indirect jobs, Reyma strengthens its presence in the southeastern market.

Committed to formal employment and improving the living conditions of Merida’s residents, this plant will begin producing our signature paper and compostable product lines, under the same quality standards, including a sustainable, more inclusive business vision.

“We’ve put down deep roots. Mérida welcomed us with open arms, and today we can confidently say we are already yucatecos. With this investment, we reaffirm our commitment, convinced that growth can only be authentic when people are placed in the center. This new project is clear proof of how happy we are about continuing to grow in this city.” Said David Pacheco Espinoza, Director of the Southeast Reyma Division.

The arrival of a second plant will not only strengthen operational capacity in the southeast but will also consolidate Yucatán as a key platform for Reyma’s national and international growth.

In 2014, the first production plant was inaugurated, where 780 people are currently working. It supplies products to distributors, grocery wholesalers, and self-service stores throughout the region, in addition to exporting to the United States, Central America and the Caribbean.

Southeast Reyma began producing trays and now has processes for bags, polypropylene cups, thermal cups and straws. With the opening of this second plant, growth in the variety of products manufactured in the region will be ensured.
